Family Therapy intensives
More time. More support. More opportunities for connection.
Sometimes 50 Minutes a Week Is Not Enough
You love your child. You know they are doing the best they can. And somehow, everyone still ends up exhausted.
The mornings are hard. Bedtime is harder. Small moments become big battles. Your family may feel stuck in patterns that no one wanted and no one knows how to change.
Maybe you have tried parenting books, therapy, school meetings, reward charts, and advice from well-meaning friends. Maybe some of it helped for a while.
Sometimes family dynamics can become so challenging, well meaning supports do not offer lasting change. What if big shifts could happen within your family just by slowing down together and learning to understand each other in a deeper way?
That's what a Family Therapy Intensive is designed to do.
What is a Family Therapy Intensive?
A Family Therapy Intensive is an extended therapeutic experience where your family works with both a child therapist and a family therapist together. Instead of trying to fit complex family dynamics into a weekly hour-long appointment, we create dedicated time to understand your child's needs, your family's patterns, and the strengths you already have.
In Family Intensives we are not looking for someone to blame, instead we support the whole family in feeling more connected and better understood. Through play, conversation, observation, and guided family experiences, we help create the kinds of moments that allow real change to happen.
Why work with two therapists?
Children and families deserve support that honors both individual experiences and family relationships.
During an intensive:
Your child has a therapist focused on understanding their unique nervous system, emotions, and developmental needs.
Your family has a therapist supporting the larger patterns of connection, communication, and caregiving.
Together, we collaborate in real time, helping everyone move toward the same goals.
This team approach allows us to notice things that can be missed in traditional weekly therapy and to support both children and caregivers simultaneously.
Who are Family Therapy Intensives for?
Family Therapy Intensives may be helpful if:
Your child has experienced trauma or significant stress.
Your child is neurodivergent and family life feels increasingly difficult.
Big emotions or challenging behaviors are impacting daily life.
Parent-child relationships feel strained.
Your family has experienced adoption, foster care, divorce, grief, or major life transitions.
Weekly therapy feels too slow for the challenges you are facing.
You want to strengthen connection before patterns become more entrenched.
You do not have to be in crisis to benefit from an intensive, wanting to ease daily struggles can be enough.
