Professional Development for Early Childhood Educators
Interactive, evidence-based professional development to help educators understand children's behavior, strengthen relationships, and create calmer, more connected classrooms.
Making Challenging Behavior Make Sense.
When behavior stops making sense, teaching gets harder.
You start second-guessing yourself. You wonder why the strategies that worked for other children are not working now. You leave school carrying the weight of one child's day. You care deeply, but you have tried everything you know. And now you are exhausted.
There is another way.
When educators understand what children's behavior is really communicating, everything changes. Challenging moments become opportunities for connection. Teachers respond with greater confidence. Children feel safer. Classrooms become calmer. And educators rediscover the joy that brought them into this work in the first place.
When Behavior Makes Sense, Teaching Changes
Katie Statman-Weil EdD, LCSW offers interactive workshops, keynotes, and consultation to help educators make sense of challenging behavior through the lens of neuroscience, child development, trauma, attachment, and neurodiversity, while always keeping one goal at the center:
Helping teachers feel confident again.
“Katie was phenomenal in a number of ways. You could tell she truly cared about us and our growth as educators.””

Meet Katie Statman-Weil, EdD, LCSW
Katie Statman-Weil is a clinician, educator, consultant, and trainer with extensive experience supporting children, families, and school systems navigating complex behavioral and neurodevelopmental differences. Katie specializes in trauma-responsive care, attachment, neurodivergence, and relational approaches to behavior support. She believes that when we understand how a child’s brain and nervous system work, we begin to understand the meaning behind behavior and can respond in ways that prioritize connection, safety, and regulation rather than compliance and control.
Katie’s goal is to support educators and helping professionals feel more grounded, confident, and effective in their relationships with children, while also honoring the emotional weight and complexity of the work they are carrying. She recognizes that supporting children with significant behavioral needs impacts not only systems and classrooms, but also the well-being of the adults who care for them. When both the child’s experience and the educator’s experience are held with equal care, there is more clarity, more compassion, and more possibility for meaningful change.
“One of the best courses I have ever taken, thank you for creating such a climate of safety and respect. Thank you for such a stimulating and thought-provoking course!””
